You'll also work with patients and the public in mobile dentistry units and at standalone clinics in our community. These opportunities to use and practice your dentistry skills and training will ensure that you are ready to face any challenge as you begin your dental career.

In addition to these requirements, you must have completed the following undergraduate courses to qualify for this graduate-level program.
Note: Labs are required in all science prerequisites unless otherwise noted.
For admission to the DMD program, you must apply through both the LMU portal and the ADEA application portal. Both applications MUST be completed for entry to the program. We recommend completing both applications the summer before the last year of your undergraduate education.
Similar to a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, your DMD degree readies you to begin practicing as a fully accredited dentist. With it, you can go to work at an established dental practice or you can begin your own. Dentists are always in high demand: according to 2021 reports, practicing dentists make a median salary of $160,370. The highest paid make on average about $208,000 a year, while the lowest paid make about $101,570.
